Written, directed and co-created by Matt Ferrucci, Companion follows the dysfunctional world of Nick Foster, a sober coach who keeps the rich and famous on the straight and narrow. After disgraced NBA superstar Jay Tyrell is arrested at the Red Roof Inn with drugs, guns and prostitutes, it’s up to Nick to keep him out of trouble. Will Jay keep his nose clean or will he be derailed by girlfriend drama, his ego and the glare of the unforgiving spotlight? Nick is Jay’s last line of defense between relapse and redemption.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Companion is a 25-minute proof of concept pilot. It won Best TV Comedy and Best Director at ITV Fest, the Independent Television Festival.  It was also nominated for Best Comedy Short of the Year at New Filmmakers Los Angeles and an official selection of SeriesFest: Season 4. Companion’s success has landed the project meetings with HBO, Showtime, Complex and GQ.
